The Barn, and Ballaloaghtan Farm, are owned and operated by second-generation farmers Anita McGuinness, Paul (Jr.) and Daniel Davis. They are dedicated to the success of the farm and your complete comfort as guests.
My name is Paul and I am excited to invite you to stay at The Barn at Ballaloaghtan
I spent most of my teenage years growing up on the Isle of Man, attending two local secondary schools. Whilst I have since moved to England where I am studying for a doctorate, the Isle of Man remains close to my heart. Born in Canada, I grew up on the Isle of Man and pursued my undergraduate studies at Durham University. I’m fluently trilingual and an accomplished gamer and writer.
From its rolling hills dotted with diverse wildlife, to its friendly and close-knit community, many of whom make our mission possible, it was a truly idyllic place to grow up. Now, my siblings and I hope we can share our love of this place with you.
Anita is a proud mother of three; she’s also eldest of the three siblings in the Balladaniel family. Back in her birth country of Canada, after spending 25 years in the British Isles, she now enjoys sharing her cultural heritage with her children. She blends traditions and experiences from both places into their everyday lives.
A CPA (Professional Accountant), Anita brings precision, attention to detail, and passion to all her projects. She has always loved being outdoors and on the farm, where she has fond childhood memories of horseback riding and raising baby lambs.
She deeply values family time spent together and creating memories with her kids. She finds her greatest joy in the life she is building with her family.
She hopes that your time at Balladaniel fosters the same sense of connection and belonging that she herself cherishes so deeply.
I live in Vancouver, Canada, where I am training to be an airline pilot. I was raised on the Isle of Man, but am fluently bilingual in Portuguese and English. I enjoy the emotional closeness to the agricultural roots of my family, on the island and in Brazil, where my grandfather farmed organically for his whole life.
Built in the 1600s but renovated to five-star standards in 2016, The Barn is an iconic Manx stone building set on the slopes of South Barrule.
